Day 1 – Three Day Military Diet Menu

Day 1 of the Three Day Military Diet is the hardest day but it is really quit a bit easier than other diets. There are still 3 solid meals and there is caffeine with the first 2 meals to help out. Day 2 and Day 3 of the military 3 day diet are limited to water.

The military 3 day diet is a strict diet and you should try and adhere to the diet as closely as possible because of the way the foods react with each other. If you must substitute because of dietary restrictions then please see the section on substitutions.

It is your choice of when to eat each meal. Some are used to eating the first thing in the morning. Others like to eat breakfast a couple of hours into the day. It is your choice for when you feel like you need each meal. The important part is that you consume each meal as a whole and follow the diet strictly. Dinner is the most generous meal to help with hunger and help you sleep. Drinking water helps with weight loss and will make you feel fuller. There are also some that believe a cold glass of water in the morning jump starts the metabolism.

Salt and pepper are allowed but try and stay away from other seasonings, flavors, hot sauce, creamers, spices, etc. It doesn’t make the meals too exciting but that is the reason that the diet works. And it’s only 3 days!

Day One (approx. 1,400 calories)

Day 1 – Breakfast

1/2 grapefruit

Toast

1 slice toast – Whole grain bread is preferable

spoon full of peanut butter

2 tablespoons peanut butter – Unsweetened. No Jif or Peter Pan.  “candy” peanut butter NOT allowed

spoon full of peanut butter

1 cup coffee or caffeinated tea – No sweeteners or creamers

 

Day 1 – Lunch

1/2 cup tuna or salmon – Unfortunately cans normally come in 3 or 5 ounces. What you need to eat is 4 ounces.

Toast

1 slice toast – Whole grain bread is preferable

spoon full of peanut butter

1 cup coffee or caffeinated tea – No sweeteners or creamers

 

Day 1 – Dinner

3 ounces of lean meat – Chicken, top sirloin, even some types of pork can be lean.  Grilling or broiling the meat is probably best.  No cooking oil

Toast

1 cup of green beans

Day 2 - Three Day Military Diet

1/2 banana

      Day 3 - Three Day Military Diet

1 small apple

– Pro Tip: Warm the apple and enjoy with the ice cream

The Military 3 Day Diet has the Most Calories for Dinner

Eating the biggest meal at night is natural and instinctive. This may be because our ancestors spent all day gathering food and then finally got to eat at night. The military 3 day diet realizes this is knows that it is best not to fight the human brain. Psychology is a big part of dieting.  And why not feel fuller at night when you are less active and have more time to sit around and think about your stomach?

Like we said above, Day 1 of the military 3 day diet is normally the trickiest.  You should have high energy and feel alert.  You may not be satisfied or feel completely full after your meals. That is totally normal and the feeling will pass.  On to Day 2!
